Chris Morrison grew up sailing at the Fairhope Yacht Club at the encouragement of his grandfather, Lum Morrison, the man who ignited his entrepreneurial spirit. After what he jokingly describes as a five-year party at the University of Alabama, Chris began his career selling websites for an authorized BellSouth partner, where he became the top salesperson in the entire BellSouth partner network. When the company was acquired by one of its original investors, the team expanded website functionality and applications, leading to Chris closing a deal that resulted in the first-ever online credit card payment for property taxes.
Chris later went on to build electronic payment systems for the liquor industry. During that time, his statement, “The only way to truly automate your business is to automate the money,” became widely quoted in business circles. After several additional successes, Chris semi-retired and began consulting behind the scenes. He helped grow one client's business from $100,000 per month with a 12% profit margin to $2 million per month with a 30% profit margin.
Today, Chris is combining his passion for sailing and the marine industry to reimagine sailing as a spectator sport. He invites everyone to experience this exciting new vision of the sport and discover just how much fun sailing can be.
