Dr. Nicovanna Shannon built her life's work around one powerful mission: helping families move from financial survival to financial legacy. As a graduate of Auburn University and an MBA recipient from Troy University, Dr. Shannon combined education with real-world experience to create pathways for economic empowerment in her community. As a co-owner of Shannon, Shannon and Associates, Inc., a family-owned business serving clients for more than 20 years, she has helped individuals, families, and nonprofit organizations gain clarity and confidence in their financial lives through coaching, tax services, and nonprofit financial management.
Dr. Shannon recognized that true change happens when communities are equipped with economic knowledge. That vision led her to establish Phoenix Fire, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to teaching economic literacy and entrepreneurship. For nearly a decade, Phoenix Fire has provided transformational programs, including 12-week financial literacy courses and small business training programs designed to empower underserved communities.
Her work also extends into youth development through programs like the Alabama College and Career Access Program, where she helps students access scholarships and college funding, as well as mentoring initiatives like Jewels and Gents, which focus on life skills and leadership development for graduating seniors.
Through every program, every training, and every partnership, Dr. Shannon continues to ignite a movement of economic empowerment—helping individuals rise from survival into legacy.
