Dr. Pete Tan has spent over 40 years learning: 40 years in the U.S. Army, culminating in his service as Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army (equivalent to a 3-star rank); 30 years as a board-certified, fellowship-trained maxillofacial and craniofacial surgeon; more than 35 years serving in local, state, and national professional organizations, including as president; over 20 years on the faculty of major academic institutions; and currently serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at a major regional acute care hospital.
Dr. Tan has developed and coached leaders at the highest levels, helping them become General Officers and presidents of local, state, and national organizations. He has also worked with Cabinet and Pentagon officials, healthcare CEOs, and hospital leadership teams. Through The Humble Command Method℠—Dr. Tan's proprietary coaching philosophy—he teaches that the most powerful leaders lead from strength through service, self-awareness, and the deliberate development of others. This approach combines rigorous standards with genuine humility, equipping leaders to command with authority while remaining relentlessly open to growth.
