Dr. Roland Timothy Hendrix is an educator, educational leader, author, and speaker whose life journey spans from a small village in Haiti to earning a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership in the United States. After losing his mother at a young age, growing up in poverty, living in an orphanage, and being adopted at the age of eight, Dr. Hendrix transformed his experiences into a lifelong mission of helping children succeed.
With more than 14 years of teaching experience, he has dedicated his career to helping educators, parents, and school leaders better understand the invisible stories children carry into classrooms every day. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, a California Teaching Credential in American Sign Language (ASL), a California Administrative Services Credential, a Master of Arts in Education, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership.
Dr. Hendrix is the founder of Hendrix Academic Press and the author of the My Teacher’s Childhood series, including Growing Up in Haiti, Finding My Place, and Coming Home, along with educational companion books focused on grief, poverty, and father absence. His work combines personal experience with educational leadership to demonstrate that understanding a child’s story should never lower expectations—it should strengthen the commitment to helping every child reach their full potential. Through his books, speaking engagements, and leadership, Dr. Hendrix inspires audiences to see beyond behavior, recognize resilience, and believe in the power of one caring adult to change the trajectory of a child’s life. His mission is simple: See the child. Understand the story. Never lower the standard.
