Dr. Thornell attended Southern Methodist University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. After completing six years of college, he attended Baylor College of Dentistry and obtained a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Thornell started his own practice from scratch in Dallas, Texas, and was one of the first dentists there to utilize marketing and advertising to build his business—a practice that was not widely accepted for medical professionals at that time.
After a while, routine dentistry became unfulfilling, and his career took a dramatic turn. Dr. Thornell embraced a new technology for replacing missing teeth with dental implants. He mastered this combination of art and science, spending years in training to specialize in this life-transformational procedure.
He is now an American Board of Oral Implantologists dental implant specialist with Diplomate status, the highest level of accreditation in the field. He also obtained Diplomate status with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the International Dental Implant Association. Less than one percent of all dentists in America have this level of training. Dr. Thornell also achieved Mastership credentials with the Academy of General Dentistry. He now lives and practices in a small rural community in Colorado, where his unmatched skills and passion for changing lives serve others.
