Major Jas Boothe is a decorated Army veteran, cancer survivor, and nationally acclaimed advocate who transformed her own adversity into a movement that reshaped the landscape for women veterans. After losing everything to Hurricane Katrina and receiving a devastating cancer diagnosis, she discovered that no resources existed for homeless women veterans with children. Refusing to accept that reality, she founded Final Salute Inc., which has now supported more than 8,000 women veterans and their children across more than 30 states and territories. Her work has earned some of the nation’s highest honors, including recognition as a CNN Hero, an Oprah Winfrey and Toyota Standing Ovation Honoree, and recipient of the U.S. Army Chief of Staff Outstanding Civilian Service Award, solidifying her impact as a transformative leader in veteran advocacy.
Her leadership demonstrates that when systems fail, you build new ones; when life knocks you down, you rise with purpose; and when you use your voice boldly, you create change far beyond yourself. Through Final Salute Inc. and Ms. Veteran America, she continues her commitment to “Never Leave a Fallen Comrade,” ensuring that women who served this nation are seen, supported, and never forgotten. Major Boothe’s resilience, service, and unwavering dedication have made her one of the most influential voices for women veterans in America today.
